1. Can't find a specific school?   Try entering just 1 unique keyword (or part of a keyword) in the "Search by Name" field.   For example if you are looking for The University of Denver - Geography Program, try searching for just "Denver."

2. When searching for environmental schools and programs by name, keep in mind that you will have more success if you enter all or part of the name of the actual university or college.

3. If you get too many results, or if the pages take too long to load, try narrowing your search criteria to get more direct results.

4. Do not use "quotes" in name searches.

5. When choosing Popular academic criteria (like biology programs), pick a geographic location too or else you will get over too many records.

6. The top information authority is the school itself.   We pursue the most timely & accurate information, but some schools may not have submitted necessary information.   We encourage all schools to keep their information with us current.

7. Are you a prospective student and can't find the school you are looking for?   Try other environment school searches on our resources page.

8. Are you an administrator searching for your school and can't find it?  Click on Add Listing and add your school to the directory.

9. To improve comparability for our readers, some programs/concentrations have been slightly generalized in our database.   For example: many schools call a program "Geological Sciences or Geosciences" and many others call the same program "Geology".   You can find them all by selecting "Geology/Geosciences" from our pull-down menu.

Search Examples

TO FIND:

1. Environment schools with Arizona in their name: just type Arizona in the Search by Name box and click GO or press enter.

2. Arizona State University in particular: type Arizona State University in the Search by Name box and click GO. If you can't find your school this way, try searching with just a partial name of the school This is actually the preferable way to search for a school, since our database may have the school listed differently than the way you type it.

3. Environmental schools in Wisconsin with an Environmental Science program: select Wisconsin from the USA pull-down menu and Environmental Studies from the Specialty pull-down menu; then click SEARCH.

4. All environment schools with a "Wood Science" program: select "Wood Science" from the pull down menu and click SEARCH.

5. Environmental Education in the Pacific Coast area with an Environmental Law program: select "Pacific West" from the "USA" pull down menu and "Environmental Law" from the pull down menu and click SEARCH.

6. All environment schools/programs in New York state: select "New York" from the "USA" pull down menu.   Click SEARCH

7. All environment schools with a "Ecology" program:select "Ecology" from the pull down menu.   Click SEARCH.

8. All Canadian environmental schools: select "Canada" from the "International Country" pull down menu; then click SEARCH.
