Introduction: The University of Richmond offers a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies. The interdisciplinary nature of the program encourages students to explore the many aspects of environmental issues, and brings students and faculty from all over campus to engage in active discourse on these issues. The goal of the program is to enable students to understand, evaluate and change the way people relate to the natural world. Coursework includes the social and natural sciences, law, and business. Students are required to do hands-on field work or an internship, in order to prepare them for the practical aspects of an environmental career. The University of Richmond's beautiful campus sits on 350 acres but is only six miles from downtown Richmond. There's plenty to do in the capital of Virginia, and the city is only an hour and a half away from Washington, DC, the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, and Virginia's beaches.
