For students interested in natural resources management, forestry, fisheries management, and agriculture, Idaho is an excellent choice. Much of the state's vast woodlands are protected and managed as state or federal parklands. With much of the economy still dependent upon agriculture, ways to reduce erosion and pollution yet still increase crop yield are at the forefront of many land manager's minds.

Idaho State University, Boise State University and the University of Idaho (as well as other schools) offer great environmental programs. Graduating students may find a job with a private business, or in the government at any level. Non-profit and grassroots organizations work on policy, education, and advocacy issues. And on the weekends…check out the beautiful mountain trails, or whitewater raft down some of the best rapids in the world.

Introduction: The distance-learning program in Coastal Zone Management at Nova Southeastern University’s Oceanographic Center provides a timely, credible forum for learning about key national and international issues and case studies related to the ecology and management of the coastal and marine environment, including ongoing research at the Oceanographic Center. The flexible distance format makes it ideal for adult learners, including working professionals and college graduates in a variety of related fields. Courses may be taken individually for general interest, undergraduate or graduate credit. We offer a full online MS in Coastal Zone Management and a 4-course Graduate Certificate in Coastal Studies. Our distance MS in Education with Specialization in Environmental Education is available through the National Graduate Teacher Education online program. The “Study Abroad” program provides a jointly-taught MS in Marine Biology with a field station of the University of London.
