Wisconsin residents have a deep-rooted love of the outdoors and have created a statewide tradition of conservation and environmental stewardship. This is paying off significantly for those hoping to study and start an environmental career in the Badger State. Environmental engineers are forecasted for a 36.5% increase in job openings through 2012, while environmental engineering technologists, scientists, and specialists are slated to see 22% growth in the same time period.
Wisconsin was home to John Muir, famous naturalist, conservationist, and explorer, and is also home to 40,000 miles of flowing streams and over 15,000 lakes. Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a 21-island chain boasting gorgeous sandstone cliffs, sea caves, lighthouses, farmsteads, and exquisite private beaches.
